Penn
State University Applied Research Laboratory needed a tool to
aid researchers in the development of undersea science
and technology, fluid dynamics, signal and image processing, training,
modeling and simulation.
Solution:
Applied Research Laboratory "C.A.V.E." System
Our
team designed, engineered and integrated a four-sided surround-screen
visualization system (MD SSVR) with 360 degrees of horizontal
immersion for visualizing computational fluid dynamics data. In
the above image the system provides ARL researchers with a synthetic
undersea environment for insight into the performance of an underwater
vehicle."This
system allows our researchers the visual insight for us to remain
among the world's leaders in undersea technology and industrial
research and development," said Dr. Richard Stern, Deputy
Director of Penn State University Applied Research Laboratory.
